Overview

The Green Spot aims to equip children, youth and families with the knowledge and skills to develop resilience and adopt a healthier lifestyle.

Enrichment programmes and meaningful activities are conducted throughout the year to promote the adoption and advocacy of healthy habits, as well as building resilience for better mental health. During school holidays, family outings are organised to provide opportunities for parent-child bonding.

This programme is part of Project PEER (Play, Eat, Exercise, Rest) and is a Movement for Health (M4H) initiative that aims to bring awareness, create opportunities to adopt and advocate healthy habits in children and their communities.

  • Commitment: One-off/ Project-based
  • Day: Usually 2nd and 4th Wed (School Term) / Any Weekday (School holiday)
  • Time: 4pm - 5pm

Green Spot Activity Organiser/Facilitator

Overview

Role Description:

1. Plan and/or present theme-based activities for children based on the theme of the month
2. Engage all children with a meaningful session or activities
3. Work together with staff on planning and/or execution of programmes 
4. Able to sponsor materials/ resources where required by the activity
5. (Optional) For volunteers interested in organising outings, sponsorship of the cost involved will be appreciated too

*For outings, you may consider involving the children's families too as it is a good time for parent-child bonding as well.

Volunteer Requirements:

● At least 17 years old
● Able to plan and coordinate activities for children
● Mature, independent, reliable, and able to lead
● Required to sign the Confidentiality Consent Form
● Optional: Where materials and resources are required, sponsorship of the activity will be appreciated
● Teachers in charge of school groups should be actively involved in the planning of activities

Schedule:

> Period: Usually 2nd and 4th Wed (School Term) / Any Weekday (School holiday)

> Duration: At least 1 hour

> Weekday time: Usually 4pm - 5pm

> We can discuss suitable dates and times.
