Activity Escort for Senior to Active Ageing Programme

Overview

To empower seniors to attend holistic Active Ageing Programmes, we are looking for volunteers to accompany a senior client from his home to the Active Ageing Centre for activities. 

Senior's home and Active Ageing Centre are within walking distance (approx 5min), but he requires support as he is living with dementia.

Schedule:

  • Weekly on Mondays, 8.45am (Registration for seniors begin at 9am)
  • Min commitment: 3 months
  • [Optional] Volunteer can choose to stay through the Active Ageing Programme and send senior home at 10.30am

Overview

Role Description:

  • To accompany senior from his home to Active Ageing Centre for programmes (Approx 5min walk) 
  • To reach Active Ageing Centre by 9am for registration
  • Ensure safety of senior while walking to Active Ageing Centre
  • [Optional] Volunteer can choose to accompany the senior during the programme, and send him home after the programme has ended at 10.30am 

Role Requirements:

  • Able to commit weekly on Monday, from 8.45am
  • Min commitment 3 months (or more where possible)
  • Would be beneficial if volunteer is able to build rapport with seniors
  • Patience as senior has dementia
