Food & Rations Marketplace

Overview

The Bloomberg x Filos Marketplace 2025 will bring a wide range of food items and essential household supplies to support an estimated 450 low-income families and seniors in Chai Chee. 

The items to be distributed will include a range from dry rations (e.g. rice and oil), to household supplies (e.g. detergent, shampoo, and shower gel). This initiative will help beneficiaries defray their daily living costs by giving them the freedom and dignity to choose essential food and household items, with each family receiving up to $50 worth of support.

We are looking for volunteers to support in various roles during the Marketplace. A confirmation email with the Marketplace detail will be sent to shortlisted volunteers.

Event Volunteer

Overview

Successfully registered volunteers will be assigned to one of the following 3 roles (or where required by staff):

Assistant Shopper

  • You will be assigned to a family/ senior at any one time and guide the family/ senior to each station
  • Help to collect and carry the items from each station for the beneficiary (if needed)

Inventory Manager

  • You will be stationed at the booths ensuring all items are displayed neatly and accessibly
  • Continuously monitor the inventory levels at the station, always ensuring an adequate supply

Game Master

  • You will be stationed at a games booth to actively engage families/ seniors at the marketplace
  • Preferable if volunteer is able to converse in English and Mandarin/ Malay/ local dialects
