Overview

Support Filos' Cognitive Stimulation Programme- A preventive programme to prevent dementia and cognitive decline among seniors. 


Key Impact:

  • Target participants: Seniors above 60years old, well or at risk of Dementia
  • Reduce risk of cognitive impairment – slow down cognitive degeneration
  • Improve mental wellness (improve dual coordination skills and knowledge in cognition)
  • Improve emotional wellness (improve quality of life; reduce isolation)
  • Improve social wellness (increase social interaction and communications)


Upcoming Sessions: 

  • Run #1: Twice a week from 23 Feb - 9 Apr 2026, every Mon & Thur
  • Run #2: Twice a week from 2 Jun - 16 Jul 2026, every Tues & Thur
  • Run #3: Twice a week from 26 Oct - 10 Dec 2026, every Mon & Thur
  • Online training* (Non-optional): 8 Jan 2026, 4pm - 11pm

*As the cost of the training will be covered by Filos, volunteers should be able to commit to the 3 runs listed above.

CSP Facilitator

Overview

You will:

  • Support structured cognitive stimulation activities such as memory games, music engagement, simple puzzles, conversations, storytelling, and reminiscence themes
  • Encourage participation and social interaction in a small-group setting.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to seniors, offering a warm and respectful presence.
  • Assist staff in preparing and organising activity materials.
  • Observe and share resident responses with programme staff to help track participation and engagement.

  • Run 1: 23 Feb 2026 - 9 Apr 2026, Every Mon & Thur
  • Run 2: 2 Jun 2026 - 16 Jul 2026, Every Tues & Thur
  • Run 3: 26 Oct 2026 - 10 Dec 2026, Every Mon & Thur
  • Online training (Non-optional): 8 Jan 2026, 4pm - 11pm

Volunteer Requirements:

  • 18 years old and above
  • Able to commit to the 3 runs in 2026
  • Have a warm, patient, and person-centred approach toward seniors
  • Are comfortable engaging in conversations and group activities
  • Can communicate in English & Mandarin
  • Can commit twice a week

We also welcome healthcare and social care professionals, including occupational therapists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, health care assistants, and care home managers.
