Overview

Join us in bringing generations together through music! This intergenerational workshop provides a meaningful space for children and seniors to learn, connect, and build confidence through music, while working towards a combined performance at Filos’ fundraising dinner.

As a volunteer, you will:

  • Assist the music instructor during sessions
  • Support children and seniors in learning ukelele, keyboard and cajon
  • Encourage interaction, participation, and confidence among participants

We’re looking for volunteers who:

  • Are comfortable interacting with both children and seniors
  • Preferably have some music background or are able to follow rhythm
  • Can commit to all 8 sessions

We need 3 volunteers for these dates: 13 and 20 May, 3, 10, 17 and 22 June, 1 and 8 July (Wednesdays), except for 22 June, which is a Monday.

Senior sessions: 13 May, 20 May, 3 June, 10 June, 17 June from 2-3:15pm
Children sessions: 13 May, 20 May, 3 June, 10 June, 17 June from 4-6pm
Combined sessions: 22 June, 1 July, 8 July 2026 from 4-5pm

  • Are patient, encouraging, and open to guiding beginners
  • Can commit to all 8 sessions
Session Details:
  • Days: 
    Senior sessions: 13 May, 20 May, 3 June, 10 June, 17 June from 2-3:15pm
    Children sessions: 13 May, 20 May, 3 June, 10 June, 17 June from 4-6pm
    Combined sessions: 22 June, 1 July, 8 July 2026 from 4-5pm
  • Venue: Filos offices at BLK 22 and 38
  • Pax: 3 volunteers needed (2 supporting children, 1 supporting seniors)
