Medical Escort for Frail Female Senior

Overview

•        Accompany senior to and from her medical appointments
•        Help navigate the polyclinic / hospital environment
•        Ensure all administration is completed for the appointment
•        Provide necessary assistance, e.g. registration, next appointment, wheelchair assistance, etc.
•        Help with communication between doctors and service users/social workers where necessary

Female senior is unable to stand by herself, and needs physical wheelchair transfer from wheelchair to taxi. She will also need toilet assistance and transfer support from the volunteer. Volunteer needs to be available on weekday mornings/afternoons.

Volunteer requirements

•       Min. 21 Y.O.
•       Speak English minimally, mother tongue and dialects are a bonus
•       Understands the hospital system well enough to bring the seniors around
•       Patient toward clients
•  Able to provide physical wheelchair transfer from wheelchair to taxi.
•  Able to provide toilet assistance for female senior and transfer support
